Exploring Praise and Worship with the Names of God, Part II
Preface
The following article uses words (and spellings) taken from the Hebrew Old Testament. These spellings are in some cases considered rare and would not necessarily be used in a modern Hebrew setting. The spellings used in the Names of God table are taken from the devotional book Praying the Names of God: A Daily Guide by Ann Spangler. This book may be purchased through our online store. God Is Great
The word for great     gahdohl is also the word for big, so when we say   y'hohvah gahdohl we can think of not only God's greatness, but also how big He is.
God Is Awesome
A wonderful word to use to praise God is awesome    nohrah, or as we know it, the name Nora. The Hebrew word for The Most High, which is a title for God, is  ehl'yohn. The word also means the top, the highest. Combining the words for The Most High and awesome, you can say  The Most High is awesome (ehl'yohn nohrah).
Now, let's practice adding in different Names of God.
God Is Majestic
The word translated as majestic in Psalm 8:1 is ahdeer, which means mighty, noble, rich and respectable.
Let's practice this form of the word praise with the three Names of God presented earlier.
