Micah 5 Cluster
Continues to Grow

  • When we first began searching for Christmas codes a little over a year ago, one of the first places we looked was around Micah 5:2 (5:1 in the Hebrew Bible), location of the prophecy that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem (“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah . . .”)

We found a few interesting codes there, but at the time our attention was grabbed by a more compelling cluster in Proverbs 15. We focused all of our attention on this cluster and never disclosed our Micah 5 findings, except to a few well known researchers. As time has gone by since then, Micah 5 codes continue to occasionally bubble to the surface and we add them to our list of terms found in the cluster.

In recent weeks a couple of extremely interesting new ELSs have been added to the cluster, including this 41-letter sequence: God and a Sovereign Day Will Express an Echo. Let the Rule of the Poor of the World Have Its Season. It is Finished and Will Be Realized.

You could interpret “God and a Sovereign Day Will Express an Echo” as concerning Christmas, an originally pagan holiday which has become a celebration of the birth of the Savior. And you could see “Let the Rule of the Poor of the World Have Its Season” as God allowing this pagan holiday to be a comfort to the needy in the Name of His Son, which you might see as exemplified by the distribution of gift boxes to millions of kids by Samaritan’s Purse every year. “It is Finished and Will Be Realized” may hearken back to the work of Christ on the cross.

Another ELS added to the cluster recently is the 25-letter But Who is the Morning Star--Singing for Them in It--Out of Any Other Location? This seems to be referring to Christ, called the Morning Star in the New Testament. In I Peter 2:19, the apostle writes, “And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.” The reference to “any other location” could refer to a location other than Bethlehem, which Old Testament prophecy says is the only place the Messiah could be born.

Witztum Continues to Refute McKay Paper

“McKay’s claims are absolutely baseless. His opening assertions and the examples themselves are totally contradictory. One can hardly escape the conclusion that McKay hoped the reader would swallow his 'headlines' without checking the details.”

Such are the conclusions of Doron Witztum in his most recent critique of another article by skeptic Brendan McKay attacking the Witztum, Rips and Rosenberg (WRR) paper, Equidistant Letter Sequences in the Book of Genesis, the pioneering work on Bible codes that appeared in the journal Statistical Science in 1994.

Posted within the last month on his web site, the paper is the latest in a continuing series of scathing attacks on the MBBK criticism of the WRR publication.
